I am very upset that someone in our class keeps writing rude comments on the blog. I am closing the blog until I find out who is doing it.

Right now I have changed the password and no students can post anything or leave comments. I will open the blog again if the person who has been writing these rude things tells me it was them and apologizes.

(I'm talking about things like the new posts and comments that were written after school on Friday, where people sign other kid's names and write things that will make people feel bad.)

Do Not Create Your Own Blog on the Fourth Grade Blog Account

I know that some of you are going to be mad at me for deleting your blogs, and I'm sorry, but I can't let you create blogs on the Fourth Grade Blog account. If you do that, and kids write things on there that they shouldn't be writing, I could get in trouble with the school.

Already some kids are writing things on the Fourth Grade Blog that I don't like, and I'm a little worried about what they might write if they didn't know an adult was reading it.

If you want to make your own blog, have your parents send me an e-mail saying that you have permission and I will write back and tell you how to make your own account on Blogger.

If anyone else makes new blogs on the Fourth Grade Blog account I'll have to delete those too. I'm sorry if this makes people mad.

Mountain Man Stew

Here is the recipes for the mountain man stew we had at school today. The kids loved it, and I promised to post the recipe only if they didn't decide they didn't like it when they found out what was in it. Of course, Mountain Men did not peel their potatoes or carrots. I cut the potatoes and carrots into various size pieces to make it look more rustic.

1 pound lean hamburger, browned well
1 pkg. precooked pork link sausage, cut into small pieces, then browned well
5-5 large carrots, not peeled, cut into pieces
6-8 large potatoes, not peeled, cut into pieces
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix (dry powder)
1 can Consomme (beef broth will work)

Put all ingredients in medium-sized Crockpot. Cook 3-4 hours on high.

Our class completely devoured two Crockpots full of this. My apologies if none of the kids ate any lunch today.

How to Put Pictures on the Blog

1. You must have the picture stored on your computer and know how to find it.

2. You can't put pictures on that are bigger than 400 pixels wide or it will mess up the blog. (If you don't know how big the picture is, right click, then click on "properties" and it will tell you the size.)

3. Open a new post.

4. Click the icon that looks like a picture of the mountains.

5. Choose the size (small, medium, or large) and where you want the picture to be (on the left, center, or right)

6. Click browse, which will show you the locations on your computer. Find the picture and double click on it. (The picture location must show where it says "browse")

7. Click upload photo and wait for the spinner.

8. Click done and you will see your picture in the post.

I Am Proud of You All

I'm very proud of all the kids who were brave enough to run for office, even though you knew that sometimes you don't win. It was very, very close for all the offices. There will be more kids who don't win next week, so remember, don't feel bad if you aren't the winner. Just have fun with the elections!

The legislature will be lots of fun too. Start asking your other friends in fourth grade what their bills are about and see if you want find people who want to work with you to get your bill passed.
